February:
Re-engineering project undertaken (following numerous requests form customers) to produce bespoke replacements for DB7 interior door handles, gear knob and air conditioning control knobs.

March:
New enhancement launched: 14’’ Cross Drilled Vented Front brake discs with 6 pot racing callipers and a choice of brake pads.
New look to forecourt with revised gated access, featuring specially commissioned sliding steel gates and brand new laser security system.

April:
Aston Martin Owners Club features Car Care Works Ltd in their Spring Magazine. London’s Evening Standard features our DB7 GTS Volante in their “Cars to Buy if you won the lottery" article (no money changed hands for either article).
Re-engineering complete, the first installations of bespoke A/C control knobs and interior handles now reside in their new Connelly surroundings.

May:
New enhancements launched: Stainless Steel V12 Vantage style front grille produced for all DB7s. Due to customer demand after initial enquiry via the internet from the USA (now home to the first grille). Also power fold mirrors for V12 DB7 become available, with full colour coding option.

June:
Car Care Works sponsor a round of the AMOC Anglo American Thoroughbred Challenge at Donington Park. Gordon Wyles and Derek Campbell present winners trophy, wreath and Champagne to Mark Wright (driving an E Type Jaguar) after a thrilling and hard fought race with Alec Hammond in his MKII. A cold but immensely enjoyable day for all.
Old No1 the famous racing Bentley (which has been in our care for the past few years) returns once again to Le Mans. The car was driven to and from the scene of its unique double victories (1929 and 1930) without any problems.

July:
Car Care Works DB7 Centre is extensively featured with both photographs and text in an article by Autocar magazine (19th July issue). A feature aimed at helping would be purchasers through the minefield that is the private purchase of a used DB7 by the uninitiated.
The next round of the Car Care Works Anglo American Challenge proves to be another closely contested battle in the pouring rain at Brands Hatch in the afternoon. This followed a very dry and bright morning with many invited customers attending, giving an excellent display of DB7s in the paddock area.

August:
Aston Martin Lagonda chassis no: 13643 leaves Car Care Works. After nearly 3 years of professional storage with us the cars owner decided to sell the car. Following a relatively short period of marketing this increasingly rare vehicle it now resides as a much loved and treasured possession of its new owner.

September:
At the AMOC Autumn Concours in the magnificent grounds of Blenheim Palace, two DB7s that are cared for here at Car Care Works attain second and third place in their class. They were narrowly pipped to the highest class score by a nearly new DB7 Vantage V12. A tremendous accolade to both the cars owners, and our technicians.

October:
We celebrate the completion of the 50th DB7 GTS built. A very special example finished in Buckinghamshire green with most, if not all of our bespoke enhancements. A truly magnificent vehicle that represents many years of hard work improving processes since the first car in 1996 (on display in our showroom most days unless it has been stolen for a royal occasion!).

November:
New purpose built Reception/Aftersales offices are completed for Car Care Works. Unification of the service and coachwork receptions along with systems allows for both improved communications and much greater levels of customer care and attention.

December:
The end of another successful year helping Aston Martin owners enjoy a passion that we all share.
A big thank you goes out to all out loyal staff and customers.

2001

January/February:
The New Year and a greener one, with the installation of a new water based paint and mixing system for our coachworks. Costing some £20,000 to set up, it will initially run alongside our solvent-based system. This addition is essential to keep both with technology and environmental issues. Once again cementing Car Care’s commitment to the future and it’s growth.

March:
Embarrassment throughout the sales department with another article in the Evening Standard’s Wheels magazine. This contains a very non-flattering photo of some staff members. Thankfully the latest works GTS demonstrator complete with V12 specification wheels was finished and attracted most peoples attention to it and away from the aforementioned staff.

April:
Another cold and damp day at Brands Hatch with the AMOC is brightened some very exciting racing. Car Care Works again sponsoring another round of the Anglo American Challenge, eventually won by Chris Beighton driving a very nice Sunbeam Tiger. Car Care’s latest GTS was used on the track extensively between races to give a few lucky individuals a view of the track, normally reserved for those equipped with full race helmets.

May:
“V” Range Bespoke coloured instrumentation gets signed off and is immediately fitted in parchment and charcoal to a Supercharged Vantage, much to it’s owners satisfaction.

June:
In the absence of “Old Number One”, 432 horses contained within the stunning Balmoral Green hand beaten aluminium shell made the return trip to Le Mans. With carburettors and camshafts in complete harmony, singing out through a brand new big bore exhaust system, a very happy and trouble free road trip was completed.

July:
New Enhancement Launched: Side vent finishers in hand crafted stainless steel are signed off and meet the customer waiting list that has been building throughout the year. A choice of historic Aston Martin badges or custom engraving covers everyone’s requirements.
Also this month sees Car Care Works back in the press with a very good six page colour article run in Evo magazine going through many benefits of owning a used DB7.

August:
Coachwork’s staff members successfully complete extensive training at Advanced Composites training facility and are now looking to extend our in-house expertise in both the repair and creation of carbon fibre.
August also sees the tarmac trucks arrive to bring not only a new look to the works, but a practical and uniform finish throughout.
